World Health Organization declares playing video games a mental health disorder, but now says transgenderism is completely normal

When it comes to politics, social policies and even science, the United Nations’ World Health Organization always “errs” on the side or Alt-Left radicalism. Knowing that helps explain why and how the WHO can come up with some of the most bizarre conclusions and findings that don’t hold up even to rudimentary logic and common sense.

Take, for instance, WHO’s recent conclusion that playing video games is a mental health disorder, but claiming to be the opposite gender you were born…isn’t.

As Ben Shapiro at The Daily Wire noted, WHO has officially designated “gaming disorder” as a mental impairment, characterized by “a pattern of persistent or recurrent gaming behavior.” In the organization’s upcoming 11th update of its International Classification of Diseases, this is actually a real affliction to these goofball Leftists.

Now granted, there are definitely some people who have an unhealthy affinity for the virtual world, spending the lion’s share of their free time playing video games.

But because the nitwits at WHO don’t agree with that, they are now calling it a mental issue that, of course, requires new resources in which to deal with it.

“The behavior pattern is of sufficient severity to result in significant impairment in personal, family, social, educational, occupational, or other important areas of functioning,” the draft reads. “The gaming behavior and other features are normally evident over a period of at least 12 months in order for a diagnosis to be assigned, although the required duration may be shortened if all diagnostic requirements are met and symptoms are severe.”

Wow, that’s bad, huh? But no worries notes Shapiro; if you’re a transgender gamer, you’ve only got one mental problem.

WHO has not only failed to recognize this absurdity, the Washington Post reported last year that the organization will “declassify” transgenderism as a mental disorder next year.

And poof, just like that, away goes the mental stigma of claiming to be a sex you’re not.

Talk about your politically correct “science.” (Related: Huge increase in children being indoctrinated with gender identity propaganda (and even undergoing surgeries.)

“The proposals to declassify transgender identity as a mental disorder have been approved by each committee that has considered it so far. … Transgender activist groups have been working toward this for years, said Mauro Cabral, one of the program directors of the Global Action for Trans Equality,” the Post reported.

Shapiro — like many of you — was completely baffled by the turn-around:

Yes, you’re reading this correctly: gaming to the extent that you prioritize playing video games over “other life interests and daily activities” will be internationally recognized as a diagnosable mental illness, but believing that you are a member of the opposite sex isn’t a mental disorder at all — the only reason you’d be impaired by that condition is if society is mean to you, despite a lifetime suicide attempt rate of four in ten among transgender people.

And WHO wonders why tens of millions of Americans see the organization as little more than an Alt-Left political group rather than one steeped in scientific research and discovery.

They shouldn’t. Claiming a sexual identity that you were not born with isn’t just abnormal, it’s mentally abnormal.

As you might expect, the WHO isn’t the only organization attempting to “mainstream” transgenderism. The Left-wing American entertainment industry is making a huge push to ‘normalize’ such behavior as well.

Movies, television shows, and even news reports are all increasingly pushing transgenderism as normal, something that a new study says is actively changing the way that the public thinks about this issue.

Believe it or not, once upon a time nearly everyone recognized that claiming to be transgender was a sign of mental instability or illness. Those days are gone, however.

Now, if you play too many video games, that’s abnormal instead.
